Caprese saladis a classic to put to the table in summer, but if everyone's hungry and the guests have a sweet tooth, you can enrich the recipe by serving it with mortadella. It

is a good idea to bring thinly sliced Mortadella Bologna Negroni to the table along with mozzarella, some cherry tomatoes and black rye bread as not only an appetizer, but also for an aperitif with friends.If desired, your guests can make themselves a very tasty stuffed sandwich. Caprese salad with mortadella is also excellent for an outdoor picnic as well as dinner on the balcony on warm evenings. Caprese salad with mortadella is also a great main dish; if you use buffalo mozzarella, hunger will be satiated without a doubt!

The Recipe:

There is nothing faster than a Caprese salad.For a really delicious appetizer that is rich in flavor, remember to remove the tomatoes from the fridge some time in advance in order for them to be at room temperature. This way, all of their flavor and taste can be enjoyed. If you have chosen to use buffalo mozzarella, remember that this is also kept at room temperature. Wash the tomatoes and cut them into slices (or even just in half), season with salt and extra virgin olive oil and let stand for a few minutes.

Arrange the slices of mortadella on a serving dish and place in the center of the seasoned tomatoes. The mozzarella should be cut just before serving to prevent it from drying out. It can be placed on the same plate as the mortadella and tomatoes. Cut the loaf of black bread or whole wheat rolls and bring them to the table after having heated them slightly on a hot frying pan.
