Zucchini and ham pies are very quick and easy to prepare. To give them a French touch just take some inspiration from the quiche, a rustic pie typical of French cuisine. Use Fiordistella Negroni as your cooked ham. Thanks to its strong flavor and soft texture you will have a truly tasty pie to take to the table for a quick dinner or as an appetizer for an aperitif with friends.
The Recipe:
- First of all, to make the zucchini and cooked ham pie, wash the zucchini and cut them into dices.
- Fry the zucchini in a frying pan with a tablespoon of oil, a clove of garlic and two sprigs of fresh thyme.
- Put the coarsely diced Fiordistella Negroni cooked ham, nutmeg, two egg yolks, kitchen cream and a slice of crescenza cheese into a large bowl. Mix well, using a whisk.
- Lay a roll of puff or shortcrust pastry on a baking pan and pour in the contents of the bowl together with the zucchini.
- Bake for 25 minutes at 180°. Serve this quiche with sliced zucchini accompanied by a glass of good white wine.
